ISO 14001
3663’s interest in environmental issues began in 1995 and has grown over the years to the point that in 2001, a formal decision was made to implement an Environmental Management System to the ISO 14001 standard, the International Standard of Environmental Management.
In 2003, 3663 achieved corporate certification of the EMS to ISO 14001. The initial scope of the EMS included 37 sites; as the business has grown, the scope has been extended to include further sites to ensure that all locations are managing their environmental impact effectively.
3663 is committed to continually improving the environmental performance of its products and services through a process of pollution prevention and compliance with appropriate legislation. The main objective of 3663’s environmental management system is to reduce or minimise adverse environmental operational effects, whilst incorporating measures to enhance employee social environment and the wider community.
The Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment (iema) maintain the database of ISO 14001 certified companies. 3663 is listed within the Storage and Distribution of Food and Non-food Products sector. www.iema.net
